used to envy Charles Kuralt, traveling around the country and meeting fascinating people. Then in the ’90s, after

I had fallen in love with aviation, I remember telling a friend
that I would like to stick a pin on a map while blindfolded and travel to the part
of the country I’d pinned. There, I would ask to meet the most fascinating person
in aviation who lives in the area, interview her (or him) and
write a story.
